Biography

Mr Odom is a Senior Budget Analyst in the Local Government Service, Ghana. He has over 20 years of experience in the Public and Private Sectors of Ghana and of the United Kingdom. He leads in the revenue generation effort of the Assembly where he is posted by developing strategies to engineer improvement in the revenue generation capacity of the Assembly in line with the national budget policy. He therefore advises and guides in the budgeting of government and donor subventions given to the Assembly. These funds are translated into budget expenditure lines as he recommends to the departments, Budget Committee, and the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee on the appropriate allocation of these funds into capital and recurrent expenditure. These are expended on health, education, environment, and other needed areas of the populace to ensure smooth municipal administration. Mr Odom serves on various committees in the Assembly to provide technical know-how in the development of the municipality in particular and Ghana in general. He has vast knowledge in Local Government Administration in the areas of Budgeting and Finance, Community Engagement, and Local Revenue Generation. Prior to his current position, Mr Odom was in academia as a Lecturer. He has taught various undergraduate courses in Management, Banking and Finance. He lectured at Garden City University College and Regent University of Science and Technology, all in Ghana. Mr Odom holds an MBA Finance from the University of Leicester, U.K, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
